Our Volunteers – The Heart of “Lampsi”
No child and no parent struggles alone in our “Lampsi”. He has our parents, people and volunteers by his side. The concept of volunteering is not just a donation; it is a profound act of love, empathy and humanity. Our volunteers are the living soul of our work. Without them, nothing would be the same. It is the support behind every smile, every action, every hope born for children with neoplastic diseases and their families.
The feeling of being a volunteer at “Lampsi” is unique. It is the warmth of giving without reciprocation, the thrill of seeing a child continue to rejoice despite their suffering, parents receiving courage, struggling to be strong and strong for their children. It’s the feeling of participating in something that is bigger than you and has real meaning. It is the gift that is returned many times over to the soul of the volunteer.
The volunteers of handmade constructions for our bazaars have a special place. With passion, imagination and love, they create small works of art that strengthen our work with valuable resources.
The volunteers of the external actions are present at events, briefings and activities, spreading our message, contributing to the cultivation of a culture of empathy, social solidarity and participation.
An integral part of our team are also the volunteers who support the Pediatric Oncology Departments at the “AHEPA” and “IPPOKRATEIO” hospitals, offering support and essential care to children and families, always under the guidance of the association’s valuable psychologists and Social Worker.
At “Lampsi”, our volunteers are light – and thanks to them, this light continues to shine.
